SEASONS GREETINGS

Every year at the end of October there is a time when seasons reach their midpoint; seasons begin and seasons culminate. It is in this confluence that we; the fan of sport, get our greatest gift, as for a brief time we get to enjoy the Whole-a-day season…

The National Anthem is played at almost all venues across a wide variety of sports from the Big 3 to Rodeo’s and it is in this framework that I answered the question; what is America’s Sport?

We know Baseball is
America’s Past Time, Football is the most viewed and Rodeo is the sport we celebrate when we celebrate America. When I hear the Star Spangled Banner I don’t think of the Olympics nor the thousand of basketball games I have officiated. I think of only one thing; every time.

As the sugar rush of late October comes and goes I sober in the moment that the seasons will change. And at the start of each game; no matter the season, I am at the ballpark and that is why Baseball is
America’s Sport.
